Mikey Benes
Mikey Benes was born near Prague, Czech Republic. After
finishing his masters in chemical engineering in 2000 he set up
for an adventure of getting his further education in the USA. In
the summer 2000 he arrived with his mountain bike and a
single suitcase to Ohio, where he completed his second masters
in polymer science. That's when he started getting involved in
running local 5K and daily commuting 15 miles to the campus
on bike.

His passion for triathlon grew rapidly in 2004 after entering his
first triathlon. From swimming breast stroke in all 5 races in the
first year he leaped to the National competition the next year
which landed him a spot in AG World Champs in Hawaii. He has
competed in over 30 triathlons and believes that the peak is yet
to come. Now he lives in Fort Worth and is employed as a
silicone rubber chemist at Jamak in Weatherford. Mikey
competes in men's 30-34 division and proudly wears Loncar's
strong arm on his jersey. GO TEAM LONCAR!!!
