Mike Bridges

Mike was born in Austin, Texas and moved back and forth between there and Houston a few times before his family settled in Richardson in 1971. Mike played team sports through high school, then went on to Austin College playing basketball and baseball and graduating in 1980. He's handled his own remodeling business since 1980. Scott and Mike went to Austin College together and after a couple of years of post graduation, Scott somehow managed to talk Mike into doing the Presidents tri at Lake Lavon. Being the most difficult thing he's ever done before, he could not wait to do another, ha. After a few more, Mike hung up his speedo until spring of '07, joining the Loncar team after being coersed by Steph. Mike was in her dental office, under strong sedation when she got him to join, by the way. Mike is single with three incredible sons: Noah 24, Seth 22, and Joseph 20, and presently resides in Richardson. When not training, Mike enjoys tennis, golf, and is somewhat of a movie fanatic. It's also rumored that he must see at least one episode of Seinfeld each day.

After completing 14 races in '07 and not drowning , Mike's goals increased somewhat for '08, mainly just wanting to get a little faster and break 3 hours for an Olympic distance. he did that at the Memphis in May event last May. Looking forward to a stronger '09 season and the enjoyment of being apart of a team who appreciate the gifts that we have.
