April Hince
April was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. She ran varsity track at Arlington High School. During her time at Texas A&M, she continued to enjoy running, swimming, and cycling. Her favorite class was conditioning swimming! During her senior year at A&M, she began training for her first triathlon. However, in 2002, the Dallas Tom Landry sprint tri was cancelled due to weather. Alas, she put her triathlon dreams on hold to focus on graduating from A&M and marrying Matthew Hince. April couldn't wait to start training for her next 'first' triathlon. But when they transitioned to their new home in California, April discovered she was expecting and put off all plans of training for anything except motherhood. When she's not training, April plays at home with her adorable kids, Colette-5 and Ethan-2.

In 2009, April will run in her first marathon, the Cowtown marathon in Fort Worth. Then she will focus on sprint triathlon. Her main goal is to place at the Playtri festival sprint distance on July 5th for a chance to compete at the 2009 Sprint National Championship at the Pacific Coast Triathlon. Finally, she hopes to try her first 70.3 race this season.

She started out 2008 with Team in Training and placed 6th in her age division at both St. Patrick's Day Sprint Tri and the Lone Star quarter-iron tri. After that, she placed 4th in her age division for the PlayTri Olympic distance. She won her first division championship at Metroplex Sprint Tri and earned a place on the Brian Loncar Racing Team. She went on to place 3rd in her division at Iron Girl and she won her age division at both Texas Man Sprint Tri and Stonebridge Ranch Sprint tri.
