Lael Martin
Lael grew up in Topeka, Ks, yes, the place everyone makes fun
of, the land of Dorothy and Toto. He started swimming at the
age of 10 and swam competitively in high school and a year in
college. He was also one of those strange kids that enjoyed
doing century bike rides on the weekends with all of the old
people. This built his base for getting into multi-sport racing. He
did his first triathlon, the Topeka Tinman back in 1978 when he
was 18 years old and have been doing them ever since.

Lael lives in McKinney with his SO (Significant Other), Terri
Jenney, (who also swims, bikes and runs), his other running
partner Java, (Chocolate Lab). He works as a Sales Engineer
helping to sell On-line transaction processing software to banks
and retailers to process electronic payments. He enjoys almost
anything outside but especially loves to go Sea Kayaking and
Mountain Climbing/backpacking.

He is looking forward to this coming racing season and
hopefully his body will cooperate and stay injury free this year.
Lael has had a chronic case of plantar fasciitis for many years
but thanks to Dr. Lyle Haskell in Allen and a new procedure, it
seems to be a thing of the past and his training is going well.
Along with doing the local races, he plans to focus on Half
Ironman distance racing this year and plans to do Ironman
Eagleman 70.3. Lael is looking forward to his second year on the
Brian Loncar Racing team and working with Scott Eder.
