King Tut Tri
Sunday April 19th was the inaugural King Tut triathlon by Playtri. New race , old
course featuring Stonebridge Lake and a 500 meter swim, then the trusted
double looped square bike course , followed by an out and back rolling 5k. The
morning was in the mid-50’s and proved to be pretty windy.

Tracy, racing in the elite wave , was our lone female rep finishing in 1 hour 11.
This was her return to racing dating all the way back to her “broken collarbone”
fall on that very same course last October. Mudgett also raced elite posting a
1:04 (7:30 swim-22.8 mph bike-6:58 paced run). He was 6 minutes off the pace of
the overall winner.

In the 30-34 division Nick was on! He posted
a 1 hour 2 minutes time, which featured the
2nd fasted run split, 19:15. He brought home
1st place. Taylor racing in the 25-29 logged a
steady 1:12. Gary (racing on little sleep due
to the birth of his new baby) posted a 1:10
with a 21.1 bike split.

The last wave (40 plus) was very Loncar
intensive with 6 teammates. Scott and Zach
lead them out of the swim at the 7:50 mark,
15 seconds later came Ramsey, then Bridge,
Chris and finally Brian. A fast transition and
an even faster bike ride ( 22.1 average)
allowed Zach to be the first of the group to
finish in 1:13. Then came Chris (21.0 bike, 24
minute run) and Ramsey both at 1:14, Scott
wobbled through a decent run for a 1:16.
Then came Bridge who blew a calf muscle.
1:23 and Brian at 1:36 Also great cheering
support from Brian’s Parents, Zach’s family (
especially Wills) and young Korey. Special
thanks of course always reliable Lael for the
great pics and the website posting. For race
