Half-Ironman

4 strong Arms braved the heat and humidity ( and lack
of food and electrolytes on the course) to complete the
Half-Ironman distance event. Mudgett was the first in
with an impressive 4:58 which placed him 1st 50-54 and
10th overall. Then came Lael 5:09, 2nd 50-54, Gary 5:41
and Robyn 2nd in AG and 6th woman overall in 5:58.

In the Olympic race, the women came through with a
Gold and Silver overall. AJ took the top award with a
2:11, 15th over all. Grace, who was leading the woman’s
race for almost 2 hours won the age group and was 2nd
OA woman in 2:14. April, making huge gains from 2009
finished in 2:27 good enough for 4th overall and 1st in
the 30-34. Demetra raced to a 2:34 for 4th.

In the men’s, AJ came 3rd overall with a 2:00, good for
1st in the 25-29. Then came Travis in 2:12, good for 4th
AG, Mikey in 2:16 5th AG., and Taylor 2:25, 8th AG.

Kevin G making his decade debut was quite respectful
with a 2:39 and Willy came 2nd AG with a 2:46.

Ashley Mac 1:19 good for 1st female. We also took 3rd
overall female and 1st 45-49 as Alma raced hard with a
1:23. Big efforts in the 25-29 by Jessica , 4th overall and
1st ag, 1:29, Tiff, 5th 1:35, Kelly 6th and Erin 8th. Sylvie,
much improved, took 4th in the 35-39. Ann and Colleen
both won their AG in 1:32 and 1:40 respectively. Joni
debuted with a 4th place 1:41.

Morris is getting fast, 1:22 good for 4th in 35-39. Tom
won the 55 in 1:25. Chris L. won the 60 in 1:26 and Scott
took 3rd in 50 with 1:28.

The Aquabike (1.2 swim-56 mile bike) featured some
serious Strong Arms. Amari, Stephanie and Zach. They
finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th overall in that order. Amari
was just 18 seconds away from overall overall.

We also posted one relay team of swimming friend Matt
Bondurant ( fastest team swim ,28:55) , race across
America veteran Gary Barnes (fastest team bike, 2:35,
21.6 mph) and Demetra’s hubby Chris ( 2:03) for a 5:10
total time.
