Toyota US Open Triathlon October 11, 2009

Start with a rough lake, mix in sub 50 degree weather on a hilly bike course, and then throw in a steady drizzle and that was Sunday morning. 12 Loncarians braved the weather and the course to make history. In the Olympic race, Abby and Stephanie had standout performances for the women. Abby was the champion of the 25-29 age group and was also 2nd overall age grouper in 2 hours 31. Stephanie put a whipping on most all of the age groupers, besting everyone over 30 years of age. With a 2:34 she won the 50-54 by 13 minutes over former pro Jann Girard and took 4th overall. Next up was Becca with a 2:40. Lauren traveled in from Toronto to grace us with a 2:44 good for 2nd in the 20-24. Ralph was our top Olympic man with a 2:58 and Brian persevered to a 3:51.
