PLAYTRI | April 12-13 | Team Loncar cleans up!
Without a doubt the male star of the week was Trip and the female star was Stephanie. Trip's impressive double started with a sprint finish (edging out Mikey) for 1st place overall victory on Saturday in the sprint course. The he came back with a 3rd overall in Elite division of the Olympic the next day! Stephanie's double was a third overall (only 4 minutes behind the women's winner) and number one masters in the sprint race, finishing with a PR 22 minute 5k run. Then on Sunday she returned to post another 3rd overall woman, and the masters win in the Aquabike.

Other notable performances were abundant and included Mikey's 2nd overall sat and respectable double in the Olympic. Rick, always consistent, had an awesome race taking 3rd overall on the Olympic, running 6:30 pace for the 10k. Ashley Mac also doubled in the sprint where she had the races second fastest swim split (male or female) and finished 2nd overall woman in the Aquabike. Lael motored to a 4:40 half IM, three minutes faster than last year and seventh in the elite division. On Saturday Tracy won her division the swim/run swim-a-thon competition. Zach won his age group in the Aquabike clocking in 20 minutes faster than last year.

Timid little Amy had a breakthrough performance in the sprint taking first place in her age group. Maria at 71 wore a wetsuit for the first time, a borrowed one. She said she had a "delightful, warm and fuzzy swim" and then went on finish and win 1st place! Mike Ramsey pulled off a 2nd in age group award for the second race in a row.

Despite a broken tri suit just minutes before the start, Alma did quite well, at least 2nd place in her age group, still pending some final statistical changes. Chris Lane won first in the 55-59. Our relay team of Mudgett, Lisa Schwab and Greg Zarbo won first place. David PR'ed in the sprint. Michael had a great race, 1:03 in the sprint placing just out of the money. Victoria had a strong showing in the Aquabike, Bridge, Gary and Bryan did well, and Brian finished. Ann had a great race going until she took the wrong run turnaround and was DQ'd. Scott pulled up lame with a groin pull. In other news.. Morris won 2nd in his age group the fast and furious duathlon race the week prior to Playtri. Tyler was racing IM Arizona and Ashley H. will be racing in the Boston Marathon the following week.
